Indian Celebs Send Prayers For Umer Sharif [Videos]

After veteran comedian Umer Sharif requested Prime Minister Imran Khan to help him go abroad for treatment, prayers are pouring in from across the border.

Fans sent in prayers after the comedian’s clip asking the government for assistance went viral. Aside from fans, even celebs from across the border are praying for the Pakistani icon.

The King of Punjabi Pop and Bhangra, Daler Mehndi asked his followers to pray for the Bakra Qiston Pe actor. In a video message, the singer/composer asked the Pakistani PM to immediately address the matter and help save Umer Sharif.

Indian comedian and Bollywood star Johnny Lever also prayed for the Dulhan Main Lekar Jaonga actor’s speedy recovery. The Dulhe Raja actor also posted a video paying tribute to Umer Sharif.

“Our beloved star Umar Sharif is unwell these days. I am so sad to hear this. Umer bhai May God bless you with good health.”

Umer Sharif is deemed one of the most popular comedians in the sub-continent. Popular Indian comedians like Johnny Lever and Raju Srivastav hailed him as ‘The God Of Asian Comedy‘.

 

Government Assistance For Umer Sharif

After the video of the comedian seeking government assistance went viral, PM Imran Khan took notice. Special Advisor to the Prime Minister (SAPM), Dr. Shabaz Gill announced that the PM office is in touch with the Half Plate actor on the directives of Imran Khan.

He shared details of how the government is doing all they can to fly out the comedian for treatment. The SAPM was even clear about the possibilities, saying Germany and Saudi Arabia were more likely to accommodate their request based on their relations compared to the United States.
