Irish Woman Who Says She Married a Pirate Ghost Calls it Quits

Guess they weren’t soul mateys after all.

They say love is blind, and this one incident pretty much sums up how blind it can be.

A middle aged woman Amanda Teague from Drogheda, Ireland claims that her relationship with the ghost of a 300 hundred years old Haitian pirate has come to an end. Talk about a break up that drains the life out of you.

Amanda and Jack (that’s apparently the ghoul’s name) got married less than a year ago aboard a boat in international waters off the Irish coast. The marriage didn’t last even a year and the two have called it quits.

The soulmates couldn’t make it last till their souls finally met because, well, she didn’t really say. She did however deliver a warning to those who are all about the spiritual life.

“So I feel it’s time to let everyone know that my marriage is over. I will explain all in due course but for now all I want to say is be VERY careful when dabbling in spirituality, it’s not something to mess with.”

A Match Made in… Heaven?

Back in January when Amanda Large married this ghost Jack Teague, she took on his name. She mentioned that Jack was an ancestor of hers. He was related to an Irishman from Amanda’s family that migrated to the country.

She couldn’t talk to him directly and needed a  psychic for that. Perhaps the lack of communication made the ghost drift away? Guess all relationships work out the same way, corporeal and non-corporeal alike.

According to Amanda, Jack Teague the pirate was reportedly executed for piracy back in 1700 though there’s no official record of his execution.

Since Jack is Haitian and Haiti is known for vodoo, we wonder how the ghost will take to the break up.

Oh and here’s an interesting bit. Amanda is a Pirates of the Caribbean fan and made headlines for spending 4000 pounds just to look like Captain Jack Sparrow.
