‘Irrfan Khan is in the best of health,’ says the ‘Angrezi Medium’ producer Dinesh Vijan.
He was allaying fears that the veteran actor, who recently had to be treated for cancer, is up to the task of coming back to movies after undergoing treatment for the disease.
Who is the producer?
Dinesh Vijan is a film producer, director and the founder of a film company Maddock Films. He has worked on some very popular films like ‘Hindi Medium’, ‘Love Aj Kal’ and ‘Cocktail’.
‘Hindi Medium’ also starred Pakistan’s own Saba Qamar opposite Irrfan Khan.
Dinesh’s latest film will be ‘Angrezi Medium’, a comedy-drama about a girl who wants to travel abroad to gain an education. The movie will be directed by Homi Adajania and be be produced under the banner of Maddock films, with Irrfan Khan as the lead, who is the father of the ambitious girl.
The movie will also feature Kareena Kapoor and Radhika Madan.
Irrfan Khan’s Health
In an interview with a media outlet, Vijan got candid about the health of his lead actor.
He was all love and praises when discussing Khan’s dedication and punctuality on set, stating that,
‘Hats off to Irrfan to have shot all the scenes with the same vigour. I found him to be in the best of his health, no matter how long the shoot. Irrfan would be present always’.
It wasn’t long ago that the actor had to undergo treatment in London for neuroendocrine cancer.
The producer further stated that,
‘We did not plan any particular pattern of shooting, especially for Irrfan. I must confess that Irrfan was as fit as a fiddle on the shoot. We had planned according to his health. Though, we found him at his best in spite of Rajasthan’s scorching heat.’
Having said so, the producer also made mention about the plot of ‘Angrezi Medium’, explaining that it’s about a family and a girl who wants more out of life.
“The story is about the fascination of the girl from Rajasthan who wants to go abroad and study”.
