After being long delayed, The Legend of Maula Jatt finally has a release date for 2022. Initially set to release back in 2019, what was once said to be the most expensive Pakistani production to date, will finally hit theaters two years later.
According to film trade analyst Ali Zain, the movie’s release date for 2022 is set for September 30th. However, this is just his ‘educated guess’. We are still awaiting an official release date from

Back in February 2020, Fawad Khan announced that The Legend of Maula Jatt release date is set for Eid-ul-Fitr which was May 13, 2021. This was after all the legal trouble was resolved.
The film’s legal battle lasted some two year as the movie is a reboot of the 80s Punjabi classic Maula Jatt. That is why the film was embroiled in a legal battle over copyright violations. The producer of the original film Sarwar Bhatti filed a lawsuit against director Bilal Lashari and producer Ammara Hikmat.
Later the Waar director powered through this legal pursuit, and two years in, Sarwar Bhatti finally gave them his blessings as the matter was resolved.
With stellar acting talent, The Legend of Maula Jatt cast includes Hamza Ali Abbasi as Noori Nath, with Mahira Khan and Humaima Malick as the leading ladies.
Looks like we’ll finally get to see this Punjabi action film in theaters soon.
