Islamabad’s Parade Ground was chosen as a venue for this earlier but later it was decided that the open space at F-9 Park’s F-8 gate will be utilized instead. So, in the end, they did go with the venue initially suggested by the citizens of the capital city.

The move line-up stuck to Hollywood. Day 1 kicked off with Spiderman Far From Home. Day 2 had  lined up, while Jumanji The Next Level played on Day 3.

Now when drive-in cinemas first emerged the objective was a cheap movie night. However, the organizers thought they could roll with Rs.1000/- ticket given the entertainment starved state of the townsfolk. Not a sustainable decision given only two people really get a good view of the screen while seated in any vehicle. Another vehicle would mean buying another ticket. So people just got out of their vehicles for a better view.

Since Jazz was an organizing partner, using the Jazz Cash App to buy the ticket resulted in a 50% discount on the tickets and for all purchases from the snacks vendors. People were allowed to bring their own snacks too.

Taking into account all the above factors, it’s no wonder most of the people that showed up were with the fam. Aside from families even the few friends groups that showed up were adults trying to unwind for the weekend.

That did mean some rad cars showed up.

As for the movie schedule. So far they’re keeping it limited to three shows between 5:15 pm to 7:25 pm; 7:50 pm to 10:00 pm; and 10:25 pm to 12:35 pm. Rumor has it if the public response is as stellar as it was this past weekend, they might even keep the movie theater open on weekdays as well.
