A sofa went flying off a high-rise building in Turkey after a series of powerful thunderstorms struck the country’s capital city of Ankara on Wednesday.

In a startling incident, video footage has gone viral on social media, in which someone’s living room furniture is being propelled off a high-rise building. The dramatic footage shows the sofa soaring through the air before colliding with another building in the city.

Numerous trees were uprooted and roofs were torn off buildings, as the devastating storm left a trail of destruction in its wake.

The video footage showcases the unpredictable and awe-inspiring power of nature, leaving viewers astonished and sharing the clip widely on social media platforms.

The storm, characterized by storm-force winds reaching speeds of up to 45 kilometers per hour, wreaked havoc on Ankara’s infrastructure.

One particularly shocking moment was the complete destruction of the roof of a shopping center located in the Etimesgut district. The forceful winds tore off the entire roof, exposing the building’s interior to the elements.

Additionally, the storm’s fury targeted a local mosque in the same district, causing severe damage to its minaret. Tragically, one person was injured as a result of the minaret collapse.

Authorities in Ankara are assessing the extent of the damage caused by the storm and are working to restore normalcy as quickly as possible.

The government has warned citizens that heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in Nallıhan, Beypazarı, Güdül, Kızılcahamam, Çamlıdere, Çubuk, Kalecik districts.
