Sri Lankan beauty queen Jacqueline Fernandez is all set to return in the sequel of box office hit “Kick”. According to a news report, the former miss universe has bagged the role of the leading heroine in “Kick 2”.
The report also states that the director of the film —Sajid Nadiadwala— wanted to introduce a new face in the sequel. He preferred Manushi Chhillar for the role.
Manushi Chhillar is an Indian model who is hoping to make her Bollywood debut. She is the winner of the Miss World 2017 pageant.
However, Jacqueline Fernandez managed to change his mind and secure the role of the leading lady.

A source privy to the matter disclosed that the “Murder 2” actress recommended herself through Salman Khan to the director.
As for Salman, he will be returning to his previous role of Devil in the sequel to Kick.
According to the source:
“She made sure she got Kick 2, no matter how. Jacqueline recommended herself to Nadiadwala through Salman Khan. She just wouldn’t take a rebuff in her stride.
As far as Jacqueline was concerned, her name was engraved on the heroine’s role in Kick 2. The idea of any other heroine in Kick 2 was kicked out.”

The Hunt for Female Leads for Kick 2
The speculations regarding the female lead in the film have been sky high ever since the sequel was confirmed last year. Earlier, it was reported that Deepika Padukone will be seen alongside Salman Khan.
It was also reported that Rohit Shetty will be replacing Sajid Nadiadwala. However, the news was categorically denied by the production banner.
“Clearing the air, we strongly deny any reports of association of any other name as the director of Kick 2. The next of the franchise, Kick 2 is with Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and will be directed by Sajid Nadiadwala,” the production banner said in a statement.
Kick 2 is slated to release on December 25th this year.
