Jemima Goldsmith is all set to produce a romantic comedy under the banner of her Instinct Productions. The movie, titled What’s Love Got to Do With It?, stars Lily James, Emma Thompson and Shazad Latif.
Jemima will not only produce the film, but she has also written the script for it and Indian director Shekhar Kapur will be directing it. This project marks his return to the silver screen. The Golden Globe-nominated director’s last feature film came out in 2007 and it was titled Elizabeth: The Golden Age.
According to Deadline, the film will explore the cross-cultural conflicts of love and marriage and is set between London and South Asia. It is expected to go on floors next month, however, no release date has been announced yet.
Taking to her Instagram, Jemima shared that she is excited yet terrified for this project.
“It’s taken 10 years & a million drafts to get here, but it was so worth the wait as (Covid/God/Sod willing) I now get to work with all these legends. I am so excited. And terrified.”
Through Instinct Productions, Jemima Goldsmith has produced the 2019 Emmy-nominated docuseries The Case Against Adnan Syed for HBO and the award-winning docuseries The Clinton Affair for A&E Networks, which aired on Sky Atlantic in 2018.
