Maira Hashmi of news outlet Lahore Rang is going viral on social media for all the wrong reasons. The young journalist was at a local park in Lahore, reporting on the Eid-ul-Adha festivities during which she slaps a young boy on camera.
The journalist tries to remain professional as she reports to the camera. We see people wave their arms around the camera, disrupting her shot. However, one boy next to Maira seem to visibly irk the reporter. Maira Hashmi quickly finishes her report and proceeds to viciously slap the young boy in front of everyone. Check it out!
It is hard to determine what the boy did that prompted Maira to slap him. The incident went viral all over social media as people are upset with the journalist slapping the young boy for no reason. The Lahore Rang journalist went on Twitter to justify her action.
“This boy was bothering a family during the interview, which made the family upset. I first tried to nicely tell him that his behavior was not good, but it fell on deaf ears and he resorted to bothering the family even more. I, therefore, decided that the boy’s behavior should no longer be tolerated,” she said.
Netizen are not happy with justification as they call her out on social media.
