In the world of celebrity fashion, bold choices often garner attention, but sometimes they can also spark controversy. Recently the Grammys winner rapper, Kanye West’s wife Bianca Censori known for pushing the boundaries with her fashion statements after her marriage with Ye (formerly known as Kanye West), found herself at the center of a heated debate over her latest outfit choice.
The pair were recently pictured in Los Angeles; Ye wearing a full face mask (a signature styling choice for the musician) and an oversized polyethylene-like poncho, Bianca wearing a transparent raincoat – and absolutely nothing else.
Censori’s clear Lafafa poncho had black lettering on the front to cover some of her chest area, and the buttons up and down the jacket made it slightly less transparent, though her curves were visible. Since the lower portion of that plastic bag was unbranded, she did, however, purposefully hold her phone in one hand and place it over that region.
Ye, on the other hand, was fully covered, wearing a black ski mask and khaki poncho to weather the storm. The imagery of a fully clothed man accompanied by a naked woman is extremely disconcerting.
It’s the latest in a long line of ‘controversial’ looks worn by Ye and Bianca, who reportedly married back in January 2023, about two months after his divorce from Kim Kardashian – with whom he shares four children – was finalized. Shortly after they ‘wed’, Bianca chopped her long brown hair off and dyed it blonde. Her outfit choices then began slowly changing into more risky ensembles, which were a result of Kanye’s over-the-top fashion preferences.
In recent months, Bianca has been photographed in a series of provocative outfits, from wearing a pillow as a dress to walking barefoot in the street, which if anything, seems dangerous.
Several of these looks have reasonably been described as humiliating, degrading, and demeaning. This concern for Bianca is based on the assumption that Ye is the one styling her. Neither Ye nor Bianca have publicly confirmed or denied this.
Several of their friends have expressed ongoing fears that the rapper is manipulating his wife – and many believe his latest actions continue to highlight a pattern of ‘controlling’ behavior. In addition to controlling what she wears, a source told Dailymail.com about the stringent rules Bianca has to live by.
In his latest stunt, Kanye is said to have banned Bianca from using social media to protect her from negative comments, according to insiders, who claim her friends believe it’s another tactic to further ‘isolate’ her.
While we don’t know the nature of Ye and Bianca’s styling arrangement, it’s important to note that a partner dictating what you wear can be a red flag for coercive control, a form of domestic abuse.
