Biryani, the crown of Karachi has often been dragged into debates for absolutely no reason. I mean, it’s already concluded that the City of Lights has the best of both worlds but people still argue over it.

A Twitter user recently took to social media to appreciate the ‘food scene’ in Karachi and called it the ‘mecca of food’. He wrote,

“As a Lahori I’m ashamed to admit Karachi is meca of food in Pakistan. Lahore doesn’t hv anything on Karachi. An ordinary biryani at Sindh High Court cafeteria is better thn bst Biryanis of Lahore except perhaps Waqas Biryani- some say Waqas’s is not a Biryani.”

In another tweet, he said the Lahoris are ‘master propagandists’ because they have been able to successfully sell their ‘silly food as the best in the country’. He wrote,

“Difficult to accept that Lahori food is inferior! Please don’t rub it in my face!”

 

This triggered the ancient debate of #LahoreVsKarachi, and Twitteratis had to share their unapologetic views. Here’s what they had to say:

“Perhaps if you come to terms with the fact that Biryani doesn’t exist outside Karachi, it’ll become easy.”
