Within minutes, these ear-rings were all sold out and the Zeen website said they would restock soon.

The Duchess of Cambridge is known for ditching high-end designer labels for high-street brands. Whenever she does that, whatever she wears sells like hotcakes. This is called the ‘The Kate effect’.

Zeen is run by directors Sadaf Saya and Aisha Naviwala . The sisters’ chain is a subsidiary of Cambridge, and it launched five years ago. Who would’ve thought the Duchess of Cambridge would be the one to shedding the spotlight on them. That too ahead of her visit to Pakistan.

Zeen spokesperson, Rabia is just as surprised as we are.

“We were honored and incredibly humbled to learn that the Duchess of Cambridge chose Zeen earrings to stylise her look at the event, in advance of her visit to Pakistan.”

“[Kate] represents and always opts to wear affordable and stylish apparel or accessories that are within everyone’s reach, so we’re assuming our accessories suited her style, she liked our affordable price points and at the same time [it] represents something from Pakistan.”
