The ‘Mere Pass Tum Ho’ director has an ‘insightful message for feminists.

Controversial scriptwriter Khalil-Ur-Rehman hands out ‘misogynist’ tips to women on how to handle their mard in a viral video. The Mere Pass Tum Ho writer shares his thoughts on the Aurat March and feminism.

Khalil-Ur-Rehman Qamar is one of the most polarizing figures of the Pakistani showbiz industry. The scriptwriter gained popularity for writing projects like Pyarey AfzaalSadqay Tumhare, and the blockbuster show Mere Pass Tum Ho. While people love his work, there are some who do not like Khalil’s views on certain sensitive issues. Specifically his views on women and feminism.

Recently, Khalil-Ur-Rehman was spotted outside the press event for Mahira Khan’s web series Baarwan Khiladi. With the writer being a staunch critic of Aurat March, a journalist asked him if he has any message for the people who’d be attending the upcoming March on women’s day. Spotted in the video, our Head of Entertainment for Lens ProPakistani, Attiya Abbass questioned him about the March. But Khalil-ur-Rehman had other matters to talk about.

Rather than share a message for people attending the Aurat March, the man puffs long and hard on his cigarette, as he proceeds to give a lecture on ‘how to handle a mard’.

Perhaps speaking from his own experiences, Khalil states that he is ‘all for women’s rights,’ in fact, he wants to see his girls fly but it should be within limits. This is why women should not make men “insecure”. The Mere Pass Tum Ho is a stern believer of the catchphrase “Men will be men” as his second tip is for women to not hold their breath for men to correct their behavior. And finally, it is the women’s job to make it a habit for men to apologize for their actions.

With ‘words of wisdom’ such as this, this man shocks us again with his misogyny. What do you think about Khalil-Ur-Rehman’s “insightful” tips? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
