A Chinese thief stole the Internet’s heart with his act of ‘kindness.’ The robber returned a woman’s money after checking her bank balance.
The thief had robbed the woman at knife-point while she was withdrawing cash in an ATM in China. The woman handed the 2,500 yuan she had withdrawn.
When the robber checked the woman’s bank balance it turned out to be empty. The robber felt sorry for the woman when he realized that was all the money she had.
He then returned the stolen money. And to top it all, he just walked away smiling and didn’t even rush to flee.
He was later detained by the Chinese police but by then the viral video stole our hearts.
The woman was later identified as Li. The man who is seen wearing a black jacket was captured by the police but his identity was not revealed.
We don’t know if we should laugh or cry at this incident in Heyuan, China. While the robber has gained many fans online for his act of kindness, we’re not sure he’ll be pardoned.
