Komal Rizvi was tortured and abused

Komal stressed the fact that no girl should ever withstand violence. Despite having a very strong background and support from her parents, she tried to mend ways with her first husband who would torture her endlessly.

“He once spilt coke over my head and punched me due to which my eye was all black. My parents got a hint that something was wrong and told me to leave him but I refused.”

“I was an educated, sane girl but I still withstood the torture because there is an expectation from women that they have to compromise. Although my parents never asked me to make any such compromise I always felt an obligation which was so wrong.”
