Netizen troll Bollywood actor Aamir Khan for his role in the upcoming film Laal Singh Chadda. People think the Indian actor is overrated, playing the same silly character from his previous films like PK, Dhoom 3 and 3 Idiots.
Aamir Khan is one of the biggest stars in the Bollywood industry. Throughout his career, spanning over 30 years, the actor has made a name for himself with classics such as Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Pehla Nasha, Lagaan and Rang De Basanti to name a few.
However, lately, the 57-year-old has become somewhat predictable in his choice of roles. While we do get the occasional stellar projects like Dangal, Aamir Khan is most known for playing over-the-top silly characters.
Initially, fans love the actor’s performances in films like PK and 3 Idiots but now people are tired. Netizens are calling out the actor as “one-dimensional”. His recent roles in Thugs of Hindustan and Dhoom 3 see him play the same oddball character who makes weird faces. And the upcoming Aamir Khan character for, Laal Singh Chadda, is pretty much the same.
Bollywood Copying Hollywood – Again!
Bollywood is infamous for copying Hollywood and Laal Singh Chadda is a blatant rip-off of (or “inspired” by) Tom Hank’s Forrest Gump. The upcoming film is literally a play-by-play desi version of the Hollywood classic. It tells the tale of Laal who, like Gump, wore leg braces as kid before becoming a professional runner then later on joining the army, navigating historical moments.
He also has a childhood girlfriend named Jenny (sorry, we mean “Vimmy”) played by Kareena Kapoor who doesn’t return his feelings!
Fans have the least interest for the film, seeing it as a “cash grab”. Netizen took to social media to troll Aamir Khan for playing the same kind of role as PK. Some even took a jab at the Indian actor for stealing the facial expressions from Rowan Atkinson’s Mr. Bean! There’s not wrong though.
