The late pop queen Nazia Hassan’s ex-husband, Ishtiaq Baig, has filed a defamation case against her brother, singer Zoheb Hassan.
As per reports, Ishtiaq Baig claimed that Zoheb Hassan had made serious allegations against him, due to which his reputation has been damaged and he faced severe backlash from people.
The Chehra singer had alleged that his sister’s husband had something to do with her death on the occasion of her 22nd death anniversary. He believes she was poisoned by Baig.
He asserted that Nazia Hassan had wanted a separation from him on the grounds of ill-treatment. The Boom-Boom singer added that her burial was delayed for five months due to an ongoing murder investigation on the grounds that the pop star claimed her husband had been slipping arsenic into her food and tea.
This is not the first time a legal suit has been filed between the two. In 2018, Zoheb Hassan revealed that Ishtiaq Baig was in talks to make a film about his late wife “so he can feature himself and further profit from her name and fame”.
The 56-year-old singer added that the Hassan family will take the legal route if any such thing is implemented.
The Disco Deewane songstress passed away on 13 August 2000, at the age of 35 and had been battling lung cancer.
