As Disney Plus series Ms. Marvel continues to make waves, the web series managed to impress even Shahrukh Khan fans. So how did out Kamala Khan manage to sway the fandom of Bollywood’s Badshah?
In the recent episode of the web series when we see out protagonist Kamala Khan, ask out her high school crush. Of course the two had to find common ground to bond over, and that just happened to be Bollywood megastar Shahrukh Khan.
We see the Pakistani-American teenager ask her crush Kamran, played by Rish Shah, if he watches Bollywood movies. The teen boy responds with, ‘only if it involves Hindi cinema greats such as Shahrukh Khan’.
Then there were references to some of teh only if it involves Hindi cinema greats such as the Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham actor actor’s blockbuster films. This includes Baazigar and Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge.
We then see Kamala reacted to Kamran’s movie taste saying;
“It’s not a surprise you like Baazigar, it’s only SRK’s best work.”
SRK fever is pretty strong among the show’s creators. With one of the show’s co-writers Sana Amanat said they are;
“Willing to film the episodes again if Shahrukh Khan wants to be part of the Marvel Studios projects.”
Sana Amanat is the author behind the comic series She has co-written the web series along with alongside Bisha K. Ali.
Apart from Canadian-Pakistani actor Iman Vellani, the web series cast Rishi Shah, Matt Lintz, Anjali Bhimani, Zenobia Shroff, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laurel Marsden, Mohan Kapoor, and others.
The third episode also introduced Mehwish Hayat’s character in the MCU. Fawad Khan and Nimra Bucha are yet to be seen in the show.
Two-time Oscar and three-time Emmy Award-winning director Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy along with Meera Menon, Adil Al Arbi, and Bilal Fallah are co-directing the project.
