It has been a long time since the incident took place and created a controversy. However- in an interview with Vasay Chaudhry- the Bol actress revealed it still follows her everywhere.
Mahira Khan is a popular Pakistani television and film actress. But her fame isn’t confined to the boundaries of the country. The 36-year-old is also extremely famous in neighboring India. She made her Bollywood debut in 2017, with the role of Aasiya in Raees.
Around the same time, the star was caught on camera alongside Ranbir Kapoor. Everything was pretty standard- only, she was smoking a cigarette. This created a major controversy and tarnished the actress’s name.

In an interview with Vasay Chaudhry for Ghabrana Nahi Hai, Mahira Khan was asked about the incident. The host asked her subtly, he said:
A superstar on social media, a male actor, and a cigarette. Do these things remind you of something?
Mahira Khan said she was confused as to what the question was. So Vasay asked her to share it affected her. She said:
It still shows up everywhere, no matter what I say. If I say InshaAllah, they say ‘oh but, you did this’. And I’m like ‘ok’.
They say ‘Eid Mubarak, but remember this?’.
The actress also added that she’s fine with it now. However, back then it was the biggest learning experience of her life.
The kind of trauma that you can experience. Because you know it was not just social media. It was headline news every day.
Mahira Khan revealed that she was enjoying a personal moment, not a professional one. However, people turned it into headline news. Vasay Chaudhry later revealed that he was talking about a picture of hers with Sheheryar Munawar.
