Mahira Khan is one of the top television and film actresses in Pakistan. She has worked in numerous hit shows and movies like Humsafar and Raees.
Unlike other celebrities in the Pakistani entertainment industry, Mahira does not rely on scandalous clothes and item songs for publicity.
In an old interview that has recently gone viral, Mahira discussed how modesty wins the hearts of the Pakistani fans. The Superstar actress sat down for an interview with Reham Khan where she talked about the pressure she felt while working in Bollywood.
I was constantly very scared during my shoot, so much so that I couldn’t deliver my dialogues. The [Raees team] tried to make it easy for me. Still, I was so stressed out. But everything was all in my head.
While explaining why she loves working in Pakistan, the actress said modesty is appreciated in this country.
The more clothes you wear, the more respect you’re given. You don’t need to do an item number for respect here.
As far as working for Bollywood goes, the actress has a word of advice for her fellow actors and actresses.
Just remember that you’re being asked there because they’ve seen your work, and it’s good.
Mahira, despite being a famous personality in Pakistan, doesn’t mind mingling with helpers and other staffers while she is shooting. This is why she is famously known as ‘Mazdoor Khan’ on set.
My makeup team is constantly telling me, ‘Don’t sit like this’, ‘Don’t eat with your hands’. But it’s not fun otherwise!
