Recently, an Indian journalist revealed how Bollywood’s Screen Awards are fixed. The most surprising bit? Major Adnan Sami Khan, Pakistan’s best known open secret, even agreed that this is absolutely the case. He did not hold back from calling out Bollywood award shows and how they dole out awards.
After the suicide of Sushant Singh Rajput, Shekhar Gupta felt that it was necessary to expose some skeletons in Bollywood’s cupboards. He said that these awards are usually bought without merit, in exchange for performances, appearances, and even threats of boycotts.
Further elaborating on his experience as the CEO of The Indian Express, Shehkar says that nobody speaks out against these award functions. This is why, for someone like Sushant, the industry can be painfully lonely.
Bollywood is fake
We’ve all known Bollywood actors, like Amir Khan, who never attend an award show because they felt they were fixed. Bollywood movie director, Shekhar Kapur, shared the piece by Shekhar Gupta, saying:

To our surprise, Major Adnan did not fear while calling out such award shows as phony. He also revealed his own personal experience.
Having been a part of several controversies, we assumed the Major would remain silent on matters as such. But, hallelujah, he is doing good work!
He said:
Absolutely correct! I have faced similar ‘negotiations’ where they have wanted me to perform free of charge and bag the award… I told them to F*** Off- I will never ‘buy’ an award!! My dignity & self respect is all that I will take into my grave- nothing else!!

You either love him, or hate him, but one thing is for sure: Major has broken cover recently. When one Twitter user pointed out that Adnan Sami is an ISI ‘Majar‘, Adnan was quick to correct her:

Kudos to Major Adnan Sami for speaking up against the cult mentality in Bollywood, especially in the award shows. And for finding a bit of humor when being labeled a spy.
