Makers of The Legend of Maula Jatt Warn of Legal Action Against Piracy

Hamza Ali Abbasi tweeted the warning as well.

The director of The Legend of Maula Jatt, Bilal Lashari, and its producer, Ammara Hikmat, tweeted warnings against piracy of their newly-launched blockbuster movie on their Twitter accounts today. They also urged people not to harm the film and stated that strict action will be taken for the crime.

Bilal Lashari stated, “Cinema screen ki phone say videos bana kar post mat karain. This is a crime aur jinhoon nay nahee dekhi unki film kharaab mat karain. Twaadi mehrbaani”.

Ammara Hikmat, the CEO of Enclyclomedia, tweeted a curated poster of the warning:

She also shared a stat report of the number of links to pirated copies of The Legend of Maula Jatt on YouTube and Facebook, along with a detailed plea for people to refrain from the crime.

Hamza Ali Abbasi, who reprises the role of the savage Noori Natt in the magnum opus remake, also tweeted the same warning:

Once known as one of the most provocative actors in showbiz because of his radical views, Hamza Ali Abbasi is no longer its most controversial child and he has stepped up to the task of mature responsibility while journeying on his path of spiritual awakening to gain knowledge and impart it to others.

The Legend of Maula Jatt is a reboot of the 1979 cult classic Punjabi movie ‘Maula Jatt’. Produced by Ammara Hikmat, with dialogues penned by Nasir Adeeb, it was created as a joint venture of Encyclomedia and Lashari Films in association with AAA Motion Pictures.

However, the makers of the film did not address the fact that one of the reasons that led to the immediate piracy of the Legend of Maula Jatt is that it is not been screened at cinemas across the country and is only being shown at a select few.

Actor Syed Jibran had called the distributors of the movie out as well on Friday to urge them to resolve the issue.
