We know the World Health Organization (WHO) said that we might have to live with COVID-19 like we are with HIV, but the two viruses are worlds apart. However, an Indian man is confusing COVID-19 with a sexually-transmitted disease like HIV.

An Indian man from Karnataka accused his wife of having an affair when they both tested positive for COVID-19. Unlike STDs, the Coronavirus is far more contagious.

What happened?

Reports say that this Indian man was away from his wife for a bit. However, once he was reunited with her, some coronavirus symptoms showed up.  Fearing the worst, they were tested at a hospital in Vijayapura, Karnataka. They both tested positive for the coronavirus.

As the results came out, the man alleged that his wife was cheating and that’s how she was infected and transmitted the virus to him.

“When the woman was shifted to the same isolation ward where her husband was being treated in the designated hospital, he broke into tears and started shouting at her.”

Utterly convinced of his wife’s betrayal, the Karnataka native caused a scene at the hospital’s isolation ward.

He argued that since he ‘had not been in touch with his wife for over two weeks‘. He believes that she must have been the one have brought the infection into their home.

“Before I got infected, I was not in contact with my wife for over two weeks. She got infected with the virus because of an illicit relationship.”

It wasn’t until medical professionals intervened that the Karnataka man calmed down. Doctors explained how the infection was a viral pneumonia, not an STD.

That’s when he finally apologized to his wife for the accusations.
