The move comes amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan and a fiery public spat with her Sanam Teri Kasam co-star Harshvardhan Rane, who criticized her remarks as “derogatory” and “hateful.” Hocane, undeterred, defended her stance with a passionate rebuttal, intensifying the controversy surrounding the 2016 romantic drama’s resurgence.
The saga began on May 7, 2025, when Hocane, a prominent Pakistani actress known for her Bollywood debut in Sanam Teri Kasam, denounced India’s airstrikes in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 civilian lives.

Didn’t attack her dignity as a woman. I intend to maintain that standard,” he wrote on Instagram, likening the situation to an Indian farmer “weeding” out unwanted elements—a not-so-subtle jab at Hocane’s exclusion.
