Today we are going to be taking a look at three Pakistani American sisters whose love for literature has made them world famous authors.
These three sisters have authored nine books together. Their genre of choice? Fiction. These youngsters – Sadaf, 20, Huda, 16, and Maliha Ayaz, 15 – have become popular for their young adult novels.
So how well have their books been received? The Ayaz sisters have sold several thousand copies to date. The trio’s books are available on Amazon, as well at Barnes and Noble.
The sisters say that this is thanks to the encouragement they received from their father, Hafiz Ayaz Siddiqui.
Ayaz encouraged his daughters to write from a young age because he always dreamed of being an author. Even though that’s what he always wanted to do, he couldn’t.
“It was my dream to write novels, … but I never found the time. So, today, my children are taking my dream forward.”
He’s proud that his dream has been realized through his daughters. Now they’re writing young adult novels as young adults.
The Khanewal native moved to New York in the early 90s. While he was a teacher back in Pakistan, he was a legal practitioner in the United States.
He would still revise and edit his daughters’ work. His inner teacher still lives in that sense. Sadaf, Huda, and Maliha Ayaz thank him for that. The authors accredit their success to him.
Maliha (15) is the youngest, and she has published two books to her credit! She penned her first novel when she was only 10-years-old, The Heart of Time. The novel follows the journey of a young girl into the dark underworld using a necklace.
Meanwhile, Sadaf (20) the eldest one, has published her novel, Crossing Red Lights, when she was 14 years old. The coming-of-age mystery and romance novel has been optioned for a Studio Feature Film and TV series.
Huda (16) seems to be a natural, having authored five novels. Three of her novels are part of a Freeze-land series. She wrote her first book Freeze-land: A New Beginning when she was 9. Freeze-land was optioned as a cartoon series and film by seven producers.
Since then she’s written a book each year. After her 2017 book Angie Moon and the Legends, the rest of her work isn’t available on Amazon.
