The actress is tired of people playing matchmakers.

Mehwish Hayat Bilawal Bhutto

Renowned Pakistani television and film actress, Mehwish Hayat, has been wowing her fans since 2009. The 37-year-old is a sight for sore eyes and any man would be lucky to tie the knot with her. But she hasn’t found anyone compatible yet – or has she?

An old video of the Enaaya actress is making rounds on social media. In 2018, Mehwish Hayat sat down for an interview with Nashpati Prime. During the Q&A session, the Jawani Phir Nahi Ani actress was asked about the physical attributes she looks for in a suitable life partner.

The actress and style icon said she likes tall men, though, their complexion doesn’t matter.

He should have an ultra-masculine personality, and a little bit of swag.

The host of the show then added that she has a perfect match for the Actor in Law actress. Begum Nawazish Ali said the man she has in mind is new to the parliament. Mehwish quickly guessed who she was talking about.

Bilawal? I think he is very good looking. I wouldn’t have any objections with marrying him. As long as we click, there’s nothing wrong with it.

Before we get into the public’s reaction to this old video and Mehwish Hayat’s reply to the trolls, let’s take a look at the video:

Public Reactions

Media outlets took this humorous comment and turned it into something serious. The statement was vaguely presented by news outlets. And they turned what was meant as a harmless joke into a serious statement by the actress.

Mehwish Hayat Responds

The Chhalawa actress took to her Twitter account to clarify the misunderstand and shut down trolls. She wrote:

Who I choose to marry is my personal decision & ppl will know when it happens! Take a chill pill guys & stop matchmaking! Let’s not take a throwaway line in a 2-year-old interview out of context & make unnecessarily juicy headlines. Aur b gham hain zamane mein Shadi k siwaa! LOL

This should be a lesson for the news outlets to not take things out of context and present fake news to the public. Do you agree with what Mehwish Hayat said? Share your views in the comments section.
