Mehwish Hayat, the 37-year-old Pakistani actress has always been in the forefront when it comes to voicing her opinions and raising her voice against acts of barbarity.
The actress from Load Wedding and the recipient of Tamgha-e-Imtiaz has always spoken up about the matters of public interest. Like when she bashed the Indian atrocities in the Indian-occupied Kashmir.
The Punjab Nahi Jaongi actress has also been a vocal critic of Muslim and Pakistani representation in Bollywood movies. Mehwish Hayat also called out Shahrukh Khan for his series on Netflix, called Bard of Blood, that fuels propaganda.
This just vindicates what I have been saying for so long. Another week & yet another anti-Pakistan project. Now can we wake up, smell the coffee & see Bollywood’s agenda for what it is?@iamsrk Be patriotic, nobody is stopping you – just don’t do it at the expense of vilifying us. https://t.co/iCElRpJAa1

Recently, she took to Twitter to address the conspiracy theories targeting the Muslims in India at the time of a pandemic. The actress highlighted how the world is uniting against its fight against a virus that knows no religion, yet some fundamentalists are taking advantage of the situation in spreading hate against Muslims. She wrote,
Just came across this article. When the world is uniting to fight against a common enemy, our neighbours are using this pandemic as a way of spewing further hatred & dividing ppl. Why do they discriminate when the virus doesn’t? This is Shameful!

A lot of the other Twitter users agree with the Pakistani celebrity that this is and should be intolerable.

When the whole world is busy in fighting against #COVID19
At the same time India has made another conspiracy against Muslims which is very disrespectful for the #Worlds_largest_democracy
The #UN must take necessarily action against #India to avoid targeting Muslims— Anhedonia🕊️ (@imsuhail22) April 14, 2020
