In a miraculous turn of events, a metro train driver in the Netherlands escaped a near-death experience thanks to a well-placed sculpture. According to reports, the train plowed through its barriers at the final station De Akkers in Spijkenisse, near the Dutch port city of Rotterdam.

As a result, the driver managed to free himself without any injury and the train was left balanced precariously 10 meters above the ground on the plastic fins of the whale sculpture. Fortunately, the train had no other passengers on board that day.

The statue in question has become a topic of fascination for many people on social media who are pleasantly surprised by this unusual event. However, the best part about the incident is the statue’s name, which is… “Saved by a Whale’s Tail.”

Maarten Struijs, the man behind the sculpture of two tails emerging from the water beneath the elevated metro line is also in awe of his creation. Struijs states that he is pleasantly surprised by his statue’s durability to hold the metro train.

Efforts are being made to bring down the train carriage without damaging the statue. Also, people have been advised to stay away from the area.
