Controversial cleric Mufti Abdul Qawi is once again making headlines, this time for an unexpected and rather amusing reason. Known for his bold and often scandalous statements, Mufti Qawi has expressed his desire to marry Rakhi Sawant—but with a peculiar condition.
During a recent podcast interview with Muneezay Moeen, Mufti Qawi stated that he is willing to tie the knot with Rakhi Sawant, but only if she clarifies whether their marriage would be conducted under Hindu or Muslim law.
He further revealed that he had been previously married to a woman from a well-known intellectual, political, and literary family of the subcontinent, but she sadly passed away soon after.
Mufti Qavi also emphasized that he would seek his mother’s approval before proceeding with the marriage. “If my mother agrees, I will marry Rakhi,” he declared.
Rakhi Sawant’s Playful Response
Known for her dramatic and lively personality, Rakhi Sawant did not miss the opportunity to respond in her signature over-the-top style. Reacting to Mufti Qawi’s proposal, Rakhi jokingly exclaimed, “Oh, I’m dying to marry a Maulana!”
Adding a flirtatious twist, she requested Mufti Qawi to write a poem for her, teasing that although she had never met him, she was intrigued by his name. Her response quickly went viral, leaving netizens in fits of laughter.
