Model turned actress Iman Aly recently appeared in an interview with Iffat Omar on her talk show. In the 45-minute-long interview, the actress shared the whole journey of how she became a superstar in the showbiz industry.
The 39-year-old actress from Mah-e-Mir opened up about getting offered movie roles back in the days. She claims to have been getting offers even recently for some prominent roles. Iffat asked Iman if she was the highest-paid model only because of her stunning looks, to which the model said,
I was extremely hardworking. I asked Sheru (HSY) to train me how to walk the ramp for over a month and a half. So, whatever I have today, I owe it to my hard work and untiring efforts.
Iffat then asked Iman if modeling requires the models to be intelligent and knowledgeable. Iman took a few seconds and said,
I think it back in the day being intelligent was a part of being a model. But if you look at the state of it now…
Iman then started chuckling, so Iffat completed her sentence saying,
It’s not the same.
That wasn’t all. Iman continued on to say,
I’m not being elitist, but come on man.
But it’s just the way they speak, I mean. Their basic general knowledge is just so…

Iman Ali’s comments did not sit well with emerging model Mushk Kaleem. She took to Instagram to call out Iman’s elitist comments.
The Lux Style Award Winner for Best Emerging Talent in Fashion wrote,
I’m appalled that someone I’ve grown up admiring would make such a statement.
What does she mean when she says that we can’t speak or that we don’t have general knowledge? As for speaking in English, it’s not our mother tongue, it’s a second language (and) not everyone can speak properly and that’s okay.
She concluded her statement with,
Even though you say you are not being elitist, the truth is you are.
