The last social media controversy in 2022 was the clash between the Australian social worker Shaniera Akram and Feroze Khan on road safety rules. The former called out the actor for irresponsibly driving with his son on his lap, without a seatbelt.
Later, Imran Ashraf Awan was also dragged into the drama for copying Feroze Khan and like the Habs star he also had an apathetic response and claimed that ‘Shaniera Bhabi’ was dragging him into her controversy and should refrain from talking about him and his son as they have no relation in a long video.
Imran Ashraf lately appeared on a talk show and defended his take on Shaniera Akram and said,
The timing was wrong, perhaps, but it was a regular video that I make with Roham (his son) every other day. Yes, I should’ve worn a seatbelt but I’m not an idiot who would willingly tell the whole country to risk their kid’s life.
Talking about uploading a detailed video for explaining his stance and not simply apologizing for his ignorance to Shaniera Akram he said,
I reacted to that allegation because she dragged my kid. I would’ve never responded to it otherwise. I said what he can’t say right now. His father wasn’t doing what she alleged him to be doing, I wasn’t supporting Feroze Khan or promoting unsafe driving.
Defending himself he added,
Why would I go against the law? My apology will be to the law, and no one else because I don’t want my son to grow up and think what kind of a father I was.
Upon asking whether the whole Shaniera-Feroze fiasco brought further negativity into his already struggling family, the actor politely declined to answer any questions about his family or his divorce.
It is pertinent to mention that last year in October, Imran and his wife of four years, Kiran, announced separation. Currently, both are co-parenting their son Roham. They were married in 2018.
