The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has recently made what appears to be one of the biggest recoveries in a housing scheme fraud. The NAB Rawalpindi managed to recover about Rs. 1.95 billion from director and producer Mian Waseem Ali, better known as Lucky Ali (but not so lucky now).

Mian Waseem Ali is a media personality, who is married to Punjabi actress Anjuman since last year. The former director has been caught for indulging in fraud in his housing scheme. According to reports, Mr. Waseem ‘not-so-lucky’ Ali usde to lure people into investing in illegal housing societies all around Rawalpindi and Islamabad and then stole their money.

Since 1990, around 9,000 people had been robbed of their hard-earned money. All of the housing societies were falsely advertised in the media as not one of them was actually registered with the Rawalpindi Housing Authority. The director and producer used about 11 different names for these fake housing schemes, which included:

National House Buildings and Roads Development Corporation, Rawalpindi Housing and Industrial Development Corporation, Central Development Promotion Program, Defense Valley located at Dhamial Road, National Town Gijra Road, New Islamabad City, Sir Syed Town, National Garden, Sir Syed Garden, Dhamial City, Defense Avenue.

This is a good bust for NAB as the recovery of Rs. 1.95 billion comes after Mr. Ali’s plea bargain. NAB will be presenting the request for the plea bargain in an accountability court on Friday. The money recovered will be given back to the fraud victims.

  1. When NAB will take action against EDen housing victims.
Case is pending since many years.
Please write on it as well it’s one of the biggest housing fraud in the history of Pakistan and many powerful and untouchables are involved in it.

  2. He’s the biggest thief. He looted billions of dollars from the innocent people. We bought a commercial plot in 1992 but did’t get anything. May the Almighty Allah curses you and you offspring ( or give them guidance) they shouldn’t be like your dead father a fraud. today’s value of our plot could be in millions but NAIB will offer just RS 80,000 after a lot of efforts like a beggar or maybe nothing.

  3. i don’t think so that a person invest his money to protect his kids future and suddenly he saw a news from reliable source that his property is not existing in ground imagine his thinking to govt.and other developing offices. These all provide window to looted money from public and when case is open they all shows innocent.
Like lucky ali,s scam almost 9 years to pay money to attain 5 marla plot possession and when times come entry of NAB.I have only one question that NAB return 8 years wishes related to their polt if yes then proceed and if not stopped to drama.People are already bear difficulties in routine life don’t make fool or emotional blackmail.
NAB is almost established before starting this housing society and close his eyes to ruin public at large. All are joking and just playing game at large with people.
Allah will be with us, He provide justice other than our govt. and its department have not capacity to handle these kind of mafias.
Please stop this, looted money from public at large. When advertise is ongoing why not corrective measure taken.
Why not planning departments inform public through media,
why not media take responsibility before launching on air,
Why not fraud people made an example to those who are thinking like that.
In the end i just say do your duties as per your job description.
say sorry if i use harsh words to express my feelings because i am a common man and do this.
