NAB Wants to Bring a Smile to Its Prisoners’ Faces With This Gesture

Find out what they plan on doing for the accused.

The National Accountability Bureau Pakistan announced its decision to serve high tea, and to send bouquets to the accused in its custody. Many of the accused are undergoing inquiries against them for indulging in financial crimes.

The anti-corruption body’s decision is based on a goodwill gesture for the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, which is considered a family-oriented annual event.

In their press release, it was mentioned that the bouquets will also be sent to those locked up in the judicial lockups and jails. This will be the first time such efforts will be made for those in the Camp and Kot Lakhpat jails.

The tradition of serving the accused in lockups with refreshments on Eid has been set in place for many years, as part of humanitarian values.

However, it was also stated that no compromise would be made on the quality of investigation against the accused.

Their empathetic approach towards the accused might make the prison system a lot better, and fewer criminals will return to prisons if they’re kept closer to reality while they’re serving their time.

On occasions, such as Eid-ul-Fitr, families are brought closer together. Though NAB has made no mention of these family visits during Eid, it is a general practice in many places.
