Weeks after Sadaf Kanwal’s statements on marriage and culture (read: husband) raised eyebrows, model-turned-actor Nadia Hussain shared her own comments. She made it clear that a woman shouldn’t be expected to serve and cater to her husband because he is her life partner and not her child.

Nadia Hussain made an appearance on Fiza Shoaib’s Hamaray Mehman, the same show in which Sadaf Kanwal and Shahroz Sabzwari were invited a few weeks ago.

The host asked several questions regarding feminism, women’s rights and even mentioned that men also face pressure from their families and society. She then asked Nadia if it’s a wife’s duty to do her husband’s chores. To this, the actor replied in negative.

Fiza Shoaib again asked,

“Then what are the duties of a wife? Have you ever done your husband’s chores?”

The Jalan actor stated:

“Why should I? He’s my life partner, not my child.”

She further declared,

“I am not raising my kids like that. It’s fine if a wife is doing it for her husband but to demand and expect her to serve her husband, is completely wrong.”

Netizens believe that the host purposely asked such questions and tried to gaslight Nadia in order to get more attention.

Moreover, Nadia said that a woman needs support from her family, especially from her father or husband, she said,

“Just like behind every successful man is a woman, behind every successful woman are the men in her life.”

The host did not let her complete her sentence and instead said,

“Behind every successful woman is herself.”

This behavior irked netizens and they are of the view that Fiza Shoaib’s agenda was to create another controversial interview. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
