In the wake of Pakistan’s devastating defeat against arch-rivals India in the 2023 ICC World Cup, actress and model Nawal Saeed stirred controversy by claiming Pakistani cricketers are sending flirty messages to her on Instagram.
During an appearance on Momin Saqib’s popular show Had Kardi, Nawal urged cricketers to stop “sliding into her DMs” and focus on the ongoing global tournament in India.
Nawal’s interview got mixed reactions online, with netizens rubbishing her claims as merely “chasing attention and publicity,” while others speculated which cricketer is busy “flirting” with her.
While Nawal Saeed refrained from disclosing any names, she candidly revealed that she regularly receives unsolicited messages from Pakistani cricketers via Instagram. Her revelation comes at a time when the nation’s eyes are fixed on the World Cup, and the loss to India has left many fans disheartened.
She stated,
“What surprises me is that these cricketers are representing Pakistan on the international stage, yet they choose to send messages to actresses while they are on national duty at the World Cup.
Nawal pointed out the cricketers in question are quite well-known as their account has a verified a blue checkmark. This led her to question the appropriateness of their unsolicited messages.
“Given their status as national heroes,” Saeed remarked, “it is bewildering that they would randomly message actresses during such a crucial tournament.”
The actress stated that she refrained from taking screenshots of these conversations but expressed confidence that the cricketers have not deleted their messages. She called for greater discretion in their online interactions, stressing that public figures should be mindful of their words and actions.
In her description of the messages received, Saeed noted that they often consisted of compliments and well-wishes.
Curiously, the actress admitted that while messages from actors do not bother her, receiving messages from cricketers leaves her genuinely surprised. She refrained from revealing the identities of these cricketers, leaving fans and followers to speculate.
Nawal is an emerging Pakistani actress and model. The 27-year-old is working tirelessly to make her mark in the showbiz industry.
