The collection will include work from directors like Youssef Chahine, Youssry Nasrallah, Nadine Labaki, Moustapha Akkad, Anne Marie Jacir, Laila Marrakchi, and others.

What content to expect from Netflix?

Among these new releases, Netflix will include Saudi Arabia’s first thriller and drama series, Whispers, the award-winning short film Six Windows in the Desert, and even the country’s first animated film Masameer.

The new Saudi films on Netflix offer Arab talent a chance to shine on a global platform. According to Nuha El-Tayeb, the Director of Content Acquisitions for Netflix MENAT:

“We want more people around the world to have access to great stories and have the chance to see their lives represented on screen. We also believe that great stories come from anywhere and can travel everywhere, connecting with audiences far beyond their place or language of origin. We’re honored to share these classic and contemporary films with our members in the Arab world and globally.”
