‘Look Who’s Talking!’: Netizen Troll Momina Duraid For Agreeing With Mehreen Jabbar Over Dramas Turning Into Indian Soap Operas

“Look who’s talking!” the internet calls out the CEO of MD Production.

Netizen troll director, producer Momina Duraid for agreeing to Mehreen Jabbar’s statement about Pakistani dramas turning into Indian soap operas. People call out the CEO of MD Production for her own lackluster content that is responsible for the decline of Pakistani TV.

We all know how bad and cringey Indian soap operas can be. From never-ending stories to bahus washing laptops or getting trapped in briefcases, Indian dramas are a joke. While Pakistani can’t compete with Bollywood yet, we are proud of our drama industry.

However, Pakistani film director Mehreen Jabbar feels there is a decline in our quality of dramas. She is not wrong.

The 50-year-old director has made some mind blowing projects over the years that include DorahaMata-e-Jaan Hai TuRehaaiDaamVasl and Jackson Heights to name a few. Mehreen has also made critically acclaimed films like Ramchand Pakistan and Dobara Phir Se as well.

Recently, Mehreen took to social media to call out the drama standards of Pakistan, asking:

“Why have most of our dramas become like Indian soap operas? Bad lighting, non stop carpet music, perfect blow drys for women, the same stubble/beards for men. Everyone in constant trauma and shouting or crying, and 1000 episodes of a stretched out storyline.”

Pakistani director, producer and CEO of MD Productions, Momina Duraid agrees with Mehreen Jabbar. Momina Duraid agreeing to the statement backfired on social media. The internet was quick to remind the producer that her content is mostly responsible for turning Pakistani dramas into Indian soap operas.

Here’s what people had to say.
