Federal Minister Asad Umar made headlines with his viral dance video. However, as many shame him online, Twitter rushes to defend the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader.
The clip in question is ages old. This is a throwback from his son’s Mehndi. In the clip Asad Umar is seen grooving to the music at his son’s Mehendi. The Minister for Planning and Development could be seen letting loose and enjoying the festivities.

Meanwhile, many reshared the clip with heartwarming and supportive messages.
@Asad_Umar loving them moves. I'm digging for such a wholesome soul who knows how to enjoy with family. People will criticise even the way someone breathes, let alone the way someone enjoys.
Screw these bullcrap critics. Dance away 🔥 https://t.co/ZVKkGnVCFU

Even activist Jibran Nasir pointed out the anger directed at the Federal Minister dancing at his son’s wedding is misplaced. Yes, people can have grievances with the government, but that doesn’t make personal attacks okay.
1. Pakistan has got 99k problems & this ain't one.
2. This is a pvt family event so it isn't any of our business.
3. Glad to see Federal Minister have a nice time at a joyous occasion. Just shows he is normal.
4. We expect constructive critique from senior journalists. https://t.co/xeBW2MIHLu— M. Jibran Nasir 🇵🇸 (@MJibranNasir) October 10, 2021
Other Netizens joined in how Asad Umar is human too and he also deserves to express his happiness in his own way. Especially on an occasion like his son’s wedding.
He has every right to dance and happy. It is his personal life and we don't have any right to encroach it. But we have every right ask and inquire about his official conduct and work. We should restrain ourselves being posting people's personal videos.

This isn’t the first time this video of the Federal Minister dancing at his son’s wedding went viral. When this video first emerged it also elicited a love-hate response from Netizens. Some found the Minister of Planning and Development to be relatable. Others found it improper that a man of his stature enjoys himself at his child’s wedding.
Why this video is being reshared now is another question that remains unanswered.
