Netizens Slam Multinational Company Defiling Natural Beauty of Passu Hunza

Corporate greed at play.

Netizens are expressing their disappointment with Unilever Pakistan and Walls Ice Cream for their latest marketing stunt in the picturesque village of Passu, Gojal Hunza.

The multinational corporation erected a massive signboard in the area, drawing criticism from locals and visitors alike who view the move as a blatant disregard for the natural beauty of the region.

Many have taken to social media to voice their outrage, with one user stating, “It’s incredibly disappointing to see such a beautiful and untouched area being used for corporate greed.”

A tweep shared a video of a giant signboard getting installed in Passu. He wrote,

Walls Ice Cream is spoiling the scenic view of Passu, Gojal Hunza by installing signboards on tourist destinations. This time, they are doing it with the consent of CBOs.

People are also calling out the local Hunza administration for granting permission to such corporate companies for defiling the natural beauty of the area with such advertisements.

Some are even suggesting that the authorities should take stricter measures to protect the natural beauty of Hunza and its surroundings, rather than allowing corporations to use it as ad space.

Hunza is a popular tourism region of Pakistan, known for its stunning mountainous landscape, glaciers, and lakes. The area attracts thousands of tourists every year who come to enjoy the region’s natural beauty and the hospitality of the locals.

Such actions by corporations not only defile the natural beauty of the area but also harm the local tourism industry, which is a significant source of income for many families in the region.

Using popular geographical sights as ad space is wrong and needs to be condemned. It not only harms the environment but also destroys the integrity of the natural beauty of the area, which has been preserved for centuries.
