Do you agree with Donald?

With the ominous threat of the COVID-19 looming all around the globe, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have decided to move from Canada to California. The couple’s decision is based on the fact that Los Angeles is where Meghan grew up.

However, US President Donald Trump stated that the United States will not be providing special care for the royal couple.

Meghan Markle-Prince Harry

Trump’s decision to not provide security protection for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is not surprising as Prince Harry is no longer a member of the Royal Family. The US and UK have a longstanding agreement between the two countries to provide security protection to diplomats and members of the Royal Family when visiting the country.

However, not so long ago, Prince Harry and his wife decided to step down as senior Royals and forgo this benefit in return for a ‘normal life’. Thus, the two are no longer in the category of ‘international protected persons’.

Taking to Twitter, Donald Trump said,

“I am a great friend and admirer of the Queen & the United Kingdom. It was reported that Harry and Meghan, who left the Kingdom, would reside permanently in Canada. Now they have left Canada for the US however, the US will not pay for their security protection. They must pay.”

We wonder if Prince Harry may be regretting his decision to relinquish his family status with the current state of things. However, we hope the couple has a safe journey to California. Stay posted for more updates.
