Nora Fatehi Starrer is a Blatant Rip-Off of Attaullah Esakhelvi Classic ‘Acha Sila Diya’

Bollywood and T-Series rip off another Pakistani classic song.

Indian music label, T-Series dropped a remake of the popular song Acha Sila Diya starring Nora Fatehi and Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao on YouTube today.

Much like how the Bollywood industry copied the classic by Attaullah Khan Esakhelvi, T-Series made a new version of the song with artists B Praak and Janni.

The music video shows the Badhaai Do star Rajkummar Rao who survives a car accident and returns home to seek revenge against his ex-lover, Nora Fatehi, who assumes Rajkummar to be dead.

Like most Bollywood songs, the music video for Acha Sila Diya features dance cuts in-between the story where Nora Fatehi grooves to the melody of the song in a sizzling outfit while her ex-lover, Rajkummar Rao is getting beaten up.

The original song Acha Sila Diya was sung by legendary Pakistani Qawwalist Attaullah Khan Esakhelvi back in 1992. Bollywood and T-Series maintained their history of ripping off Pakistani artists for content as the song was remade with Sonu Nigam for their 1995 film Bewafa Sanam starring Krishan Kumar and Shilpa Shirodkar.

Here is the original version of Acha Sila Diya by the great Attaullah Khan Esakhelvi.

Pakistani artists have approached various political leaders to end this Indian practice but to no avail. That is until now. PTI Senator Faisal Javed gave hope to everyone after announcing that he has put forward a royalties bill for the country’s artists.
