Youngster Naseem Shah led Pakistan to a nail-biting victory against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup. Just as the game tilted towards the Afghans, Naseem shattered their hopes in the most stylish of ways!
Pakistan and Afghanistan went head-to-head in the Super 4 of the Asia Cup. Having won the toss, Pakistan chose to field first, bamboozling the Afghanis with their lethal bowling attack. Naseem, Hasnain, Shadab and Nawaz all took one wicket while Haris Rauf got two for the team.
Restricting the Afghanis to a mere 130, the Pakistanis got off to a shaky start with the bat. Babar Azam, the Pakistani captain, got out on a golden duck, on the very second ball of the innings.
Rizwan, the man in form, soon became the prey of Rashid Khan, while losing a review in the process as well. But is it really Pakistani cricket without a few mini heart-attacks? Soon, our boys got the Pakistani awaam biting their nails off.
11 runs, 6 balls, 1 wicket. Naseem Shah, the 19-year-old known for his skills with the ball, and definitely not with the bat, on strike. Disheartened Pakistanis watch the last over with no hope left inside them, until Naseem hit two huge sixes to win the match, smashing the hopes of both Afghanistan and India.
