If you thought unsolicited pictures in your DMs were criminal, what’s the penalty for someone who publicly flashes the netizens of Snapchat? For one Pakistani actor, it’s two years of jail time.

According to Gulf News, a criminal court in Kuwaiti has sentenced Pakistani actor Farhan Al Ali to two years in prison for ‘indecent exposure’. The court also ordered Al Ali to pay a fine of 1,000 Kuwaiti dinars.

Kuwaiti newspaper, Al Qabas reported that Electronic Crime Investigations arrested Farhan Al Ali a few days ago.

The Pakistani actor was in Kuwait for several television and theater projects. However, now he’ll be deported from the Arab country after serving his two-year sentence.

Back in June, Kuwaiti media reported that the Pakistani actor posted a naked video of himself on his Snapchat account. Kuwaiti authorities began investigating the violation of public decency. At the time, Farhan Al Ali had claimed that his Snapchat had been hacked in an apology video.

“I am sorry, you have the right to be angry at me. I am sorry my account was hacked. Someone hacked my account and I am very, very sorry to you.”

Recently, Farhan Al Ali had admitted that he had indeed filmed the video. However, he did not intend to publish it on social media.

Do you think the punishment is harsh? Or that he should have been let off with an apology?
