Somy Ali, a Pakistani-American actor, model, and activist, who worked in Bollywood films in the 90s, revealed details about her abusive relationship with Bollywood actor Salman Khan in a tell-all Instagram post.
She routinely speaks out about the physical violence she received from her partner when they were together. According to her, Salman Khan allegedly assaulted and abused her on a regular basis.
In response to the most often asked question regarding what occurred while she and Salman were dating, she stated that it was the worst time of her life.
The former actress wrote,
In addition to tons of affairs and flings he would constantly belittle me by calling me ugly, stupid and dumb. Not a day went by that he wouldn’t make me feel worthless and small. He would not acknowledge me as his girlfriend in public for years and when he finally did he would insult me in front of his friends and berate me nonstop
Moreover, she added that she has no qualms in confessing that given his behavior toward her, she opted to have affairs that may be classified as ‘a search for someone who would care for me and love me’. However, these men took advantage of her, and when the Bollywood bhaijaan found out, he would ‘beat her up’.
In another lengthy Instagram post, she recounted Salman Khan, even mentioning his feuds with Arijit Singh and Vivek Oberoi.
Somy Ali wrote,
There is no black and white. We are all gray thus Salman can be very kind to let’s say some actor or pets and he can be brutally ruthless to another human being. I deem Bill Clinton to be one of our best presidents aside from his negligence in what was taking place in Rwanda during his presidency, but remember what he was doing with his intern, Monica Lewinsky.
Somy Ali also discussed whether she is afraid of not finding support in the industry or being sued by Salman Khan for defamation.
Stating that while he can sue her, she has a plethora of attorneys who will defend her for free. She further stated that Salman no longer frightens her. She said,
In fact I am repulsed by him and the human being he portrays to be. No one knows him the way I do and what he is capable of doing. I am not a timid teenager anymore, rather a middle aged business woman who will always fight for her rights as well as others
Somy Ali went on to say that she doesn’t want or expect any help from the industry. Salman has not yet commented on the allegations.
