Pakistani Fans Can Now Watch Alia Bhatt’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ On Netflix!

Gangubai made it to Netflix! Alia Bhatt-starrer big release, Gangubai Kathiawadi, is all set to drop on your screens soon. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial will be out on Netflix after a successful box office hit. It is the second-highest-grossing Bollywood film after Sooryavanshi for a pandemic release. And now, the makers have decided to premiere the film on Netflix, eight weeks after its release in the cinema.

Taking it to their gram Netflix revealed that

“Dekho, dekho chaand Netflix pe aaraha hai 🌝
#GangubaiKathiawadi arriving on 26th April”

The film tells the story of how she became Gangubai Kathiawadi, one of the most respected brothel madames during the 1960s, fighting for the rights of sex workers and their children.

The movie is based on a chapter from S. Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of MumbaiGangubai Kathiawadi. A girl Kathiawad, ended up in Mumbai’s red-light area. She embraced the twists in her destiny to build her own powerful empire.

The film enjoyed box office success, amassing nearly Rs. 130 Crore (£13 million) and becoming one of the top-grossing films of the year.

The filmmaker of Gangubai Kathiawadi, Sanjay Leela Bhansali talking about his film coming on Netflix said

Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt, who recently tied the knot with the love of her life, Ranbir Kapoor on April 14, is all geared up to shoot for the next schedule of her upcoming film ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’. The film also stars Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, and Jaya Bachchan.
