Pakistanis Want Imran Khan for the Nobel Peace Prize Even If He’s Too Gracious to Say No

Does Imran Khan deserve the prize?

#NobelPeacePrizeForImranKhan is trending on Twitter and we’ll tell you why. It all started when one American comedian Jeremy McLellan suggested we take Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize and give it to Imran Khan (after all how many wars has Obama stopped).

Jeremy McLellan has a huge fan following in Pakistan. So when he put out the idea Pakistani totally put a hashtag on it.

What followed was a peace, pride and love for Pakistan.

Not Worthy of Nobel Prize: PM Khan

Prime Minister Imran Khan too had something to say about the whole thing.

He believes that there’s still a long way to go before he’s even worthy of receiving the Peace Prize. In fact, the person who solves the Kashmir issue once and for all is more deserving of the Nobel, according to him.

So far, an online petition calling for nominating Imran Khan for the Nobel Peace Prize has received 0.15 million signatures and counting.

How Did It All Start

When Indian Air Force fighter jets entered Pakistani air space in Balakot and killed some trees, Indian media went berserk. They were calling for war and singing victory songs when Pakistan broke their bubble.

News was that three IAF jets went down in Balakot and a surviving IAF Wing Commander had been captured. IAF Wing Commander Abhinanadan was taken into custody and Pakistan’s Prime Minister called for negotiations with India.

While India was still deliberating ‘to war or not to war’ Pakistan’s PM Imran Khan announced that Abhinandan would be sent back as a gesture of peace.
