Parineeti Chopra got a sparkling diamond ring from her brother-in-law Nick Jonas as a ‘Jhoota Chupai’ (a tradition that involves hiding the groom’s shoes).
One of Bollywood’s biggest weddings was that of actress Priyanka Chopra and pop-star Nick Jonas. Parineeti Chopra slipped the details of this during her appearance on Neha Dhupia’s chat show BFFs with Vogue.
Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra had a traditional Indian ceremony and Christian nuptials. As part of the Indian wedding rituals, the bridesmaids participate in ‘Jhoota Chupai‘. In exchange for the shoes, the groom has to give the bridesmaids a gift.
Parineeti Chopra Got This as Jhoota Chupai
No one knew till now what Nick gave Parineeti. Immediately after the wedding, rumors surfaced that Nick paid only five lac INR as Jhoota Chupai money.
Parineeti revealed on Neha Dhupia’s show that Nick had come prepared. She revealed that she wasn’t the only bridesmaid to get a diamond ring. She revealed that ‘Nick signaled his groomsmen to bring in a tray of sparkling diamond rings, one for each bridesmaid.’
Parineeti Chopra also spilled the tea on Nick and Pri’s wedding celebrations during the rituals.
