The hit drama serial Parwarish continues to keep us glued to our TV screens, mainly due to its young and talented cast. Besides Aina Asif and Samar Abbas Jafri, fans also love Nooray Zeeshan and her character Aniya.
While Nooray Zeeshan’s on-screen performance has been widely appreciated, the young actor recently revealed a personal connection to her character. In a candid interview with a digital magazine, Zeeshan shared that, much like Aniya, she too faced bullying during her school years.
Reflecting on her experiences, Zeeshan recalled incidents where classmates would deliberately step on her white sports shoes or mark her uniform with a pen, actions that could get her in trouble during uniform checks. She also described a particularly painful memory:
Once I was just walking with my lunch, minding my own business, when this guy came running past me. I fell and hit my head on the floor. It started to bleed, but he stood there laughing with his friends.
Zeeshan explained that she was often targeted by senior students because she was ‘different’. She recounted being called names, having false rumours spread about her, and even finding her bag thrown in the dustbin. The actor admitted that she was too afraid to share these experiences with anyone at home.
Having grown up with these challenges, Nooray Zeeshan now makes it a point to stand up for herself and others who may be facing similar situations. Her story is a reminder of the importance of empathy and support, both in schools and beyond.
