At this point watching Pehli Si Mohabbat is plain torture. From Murad and Zainab’s extremely dysfunctional relationship to Sikander’s revenge ploy.

Even the formidable Nargis was brought to tears by all this drama.
Episode 21 kicks off with Zainab admitting the truth of her unhappy life to Sikander. She then slaps him with a reality check that she has moved on and doesn’t love him anymore. She was in love with the person he used to be, not the selfish antagonist he is now.

Meanwhile, Rakshi seems to have accepted her fate as she goes ahead and wears the bridal dress Sikander’s family sent her. The pink ‘churiyan‘ (glass bangles) have been symbolic through Rakshi and Aslam’s relationship.
From Rakshi accepting Aslam’s proposition by wearing them to her breaking some of the churiyan and leaving them where she and Aslam would meet on her roof. Now she’s left with but one pink bangle. We watch as she sadly removes the remains of her love life.
Does this have to do with the pep talk Nargis gave her? Nargis shared her experience of choosing respect over love. Is Rakshi following suit?
Meanwhile, Sikander’s mother knows something is up. She’s apprehensive about the whole thing, but her husband assures her their son is fine and just let him be. Sikander on the other hand is still willing to leave Rakshi at the alter if Zainab agrees.
Aslam is also on standby. Unlike Rakshi he isn’t giving up and heartbreak is taking a toll on him.
Despite the torment, he’s enduring, Aslam is still the sweetheart as he looks out for his sister. He hasn’t turned bitter with pain.
Heartbreak didn’t just take a toll on Sikander. Zainab isn’t the empath we believed her to be. Turns out she only feels for her brother and is encouraging Rakshi to do what she couldn’t. Pick love over anything.
Will Rakshi follow Nargis’ lead or agree to Zainab’s hypocrisy?

Meanwhile, we see more moments between Akram and Aslam. He might have rigid ‘principles’ but he does care about Aslam. He asks him to go on a getaway with a friend to Muree. Hoping maybe that will help him move on.
Why won’t he just melt already and agree to help Aslam marry Rakshi?
Having said all that, is Zainab really a better sibling than Akram? He still seems to be looking out for him while his sister is just reinforcing his choices, good or bad.
