Now we really hope its a girl.

With the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle due soon, we all want to know what they’re naming the royal baby.

Diana for a baby girl is really a hot favorite (we think its fitting for someone born of a mixed race, a British-American royal baby).

Meghan Markle has been bending tradition with her pregnancy. She’s gone on a Commonwealth tour, traveling on a plane whilst pregnant and rocking pant-suits with flats.

There is a lot of speculation on how Meghan will go about this royal baby affair. Most importantly if she know the gender of the lil’ critter and what she will name the baby.

The Guessing Game

Soon after the couple announced their pregnancy, Prince Harry said he hopes its’ a girl. Many expect that if its a girl the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could pay tribute to the late Princess Diana.

In case its a boy then most bets are on Arthur (traditional and filmy, like Harry and Meghan).

William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams spilled the beans on the royal baby names.

“Diana (is) 10/1 red hot favourite, no great surprises there. But the recent move is for Victoria also 10/1, (people) really like it.”

The public seem to be on Harry’s side rooting for a baby girl (so we can have a fiercer Diana). According to William Hill odds were 8/11 for a girl and evens for a boy earlier this week.

Betfair Media Relations Manager Katie Baylis also supports their competitor’s claims that the odds for a girl have shortened and the favorite name is Diana at 5/1.

How about Alice?

Baylis says people also have their money on Alice. That name was among suspected names for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s third child. The couple had a baby boy and named him Louis.

“Punters feel that there will at some point be an Alice in the royal family and so we’ve seen plenty of interest in that name as well.”

Harry’s great-grandmother was named Alice (Prince Philip’s mother, Queen Elizabeth’s mother-in-law)

According to Betfair the odds for Arthur are 8/1. While Alice, Victoria, Grace, James, and Edward each stand at 14/1. Diana and Arthur are also among favorites at other

Besides bookmarkers like William Hill and Betfair Media, even sightseers are pitching potential names.

Other wagers include royal baby godparents, the date and time of birth, and if Meghan will have twins.

Meghan is Shaking Up Things

One thing’s for sure. Meghan is shaking things up a little when it comes to royal baby protocol. The couple has reportedly constructed a gender-neutral nursery at their home in Windsor. That’s because the feminist wants to raise a gender-fluid child by not pushing traditional gender norms. Given Meghan’s active role in UN and her advocacy for women rights, this is only expected.

It is also rumored that Meghan Markle is planning to have the baby at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey. Ever since Princess Diana had her first royal baby Prince William at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, West London, it has been tradition for royal babies to be born there.

Before that, it was standard practice for princes and princesses to be born at home in palaces. Prince Harry and Meghan’s baby will not be the first royal born at the Frimley Park. Prince Edward’s wife Sophie had their children at Frimley Park.
